Behind the Meter

Behind the Meter is an attempt to shed light on "proof of work" cryptocurrency mining in New York State. The website walks the user through some of the issues raised by cryptocurrency mining at an industrial scale: energy consumption, greenhouse gasses, carbon offsetting, impact on the environment, and e-waste, to name a few.
Isotype inspired pictograms help tell the story.
Production Type's Proto Grotesk Regular for titling. A touch quirky yet serious enough to command attention to the subject at hand.
Klim Type Foundry's Söhne for descriptive text and section heads. An elegant yet no-frills take on Akzidenz Grotesk, this is a very versatile font.
